The Port of Everett is asking for community input before revising their plan to develop the waterfront. Over the next seven months, the Port of Everett will develop its Marina District Master Plan that will, in part, update its 2005 master plan for waterfront development. The 2005 development plan, which was approved by the City of Everett, called for a mix of uses including residential, retail, hospitality, office space, public access and marina-related services.

Transport Canada doesn’t have any regulatory concerns over Enbridge’s proposed, and highly contested, Northern Gateway Pipeline Project, according to a report released in February. The proposed pipeline would export Alberta oil to buyers in China and California, and bring large oil tankers to a terminal in Kitimat and through the waterways of one of B.C.’s most treasured remote cruising grounds.

The 50th annual Vancouver International Boat Show, February 8–12, closed Sunday with significant positive feedback from key stakeholders in its 250 exhibitor base, and an overall attendance of 32,981 – up 6% from 2011.
