North Vancouver’s Britmar Marine now has the latest in marine battery technology in stock. The lithium ion phosphate batteries, powerful enough to start marine engines and provide house power, are smaller and lighter than traditional marine batteries. A 320 AH lithium weighs in at 59.5 pounds and a standard lead acid of the same capacity weighs about 140 pounds. According to the manufacturer the new batteries can be fully charged in one hour.
