The show promises something for everyone on 3,000-plus feet of dock space.
After three successful years, the fourth annual Nanaimo Floating Boat & Marine Trade Show has been building a lot of buzz. Visitors from all over Vancouver Island, the B.C. mainland and Washington will crowd 3,000-plus feet of dock space in Nanaimo Boat Basin in downtown Nanaimo, June 6-–8, to see a broad array of new and pre-owned boats from a variety of exhibitors, including more than 30 brokers.

“The show continues to grow and has taken hold in the coastal show circuit,” said David Mailloux, marina and show supervisor for the Nanaimo Port Authority, which hosts the event. “Its momentum is exciting.”

The show promises something for everyone—from the sexy and technically amazing to the high-end and pre-owned—as well as more than a few deals. “Our show has an element of urgency,” said Mailloux. “In June, people identify with being on the water—the days are long and it’s warm. Exhibitors, on the other hand, want to move their seasonal product, and the supply is to the consumer’s benefit.”

In addition to boat sales, Vancouver Island and mainland marine suppliers, the Coast Guard Auxiliary and the Power Squadron will also be present at the show, along with entertainment and charter activities.

For BC Ferries foot passengers, a shuttle operates from Departure Bay. More information is at www.npa.ca, or call 250-754-5053.
