GPS Waypoints British Columbia Coast by Don Douglass, published by FineEdge Productions, 1997 (139 pp., PB, $15.95). In the age of GPS, waypoint guides are useful planning and piloting tools. This one, from one of the creators of the popular Exploring the British Columbia Coast cruising guides is one of the most comprehensive. It lists some 3,000 harbours, marinas, marine parks, inlets, islands and nav aides from Aaltanhash Inlet to Zumtela Bay, most of them calculated and verified by the author. Each entry includes the number and datum of the appropriate large-scale chart, Lat/Long coordinates of the feature and in many cases, precise coordinates of a nearby spot to drop the hook. Updates can be downloaded from the publisher's website.
