Sailing to the Edge of Time: The Promise, Challenges and Freedom of Offshore Sailing

Join Bluewater Cruising Association (BCA) on March 6, at 19:00, for the 45th annual Ocean Cruising Adventure speaker series, Sailing to the Edge of Time: The Promise, Challenges and Freedom of Offshore Sailing.

This will be a virtual evening of enticing adventure with John Kretschmer as he shares his personal account of offshore sailing, the hard-won lessons about making the most of life and fulfilling dreams. A professional sailor and writer, Kretschmer, is an accomplished ocean voyager, having logged more than 300,000 offshore miles, including a record-breaking voyage from New York to San Francisco by way of Cape Horn, sailing a 32-foot boat against the wind. He has made 26 transatlantic crossings, and numerous passages in all the world’s oceans.

Ocean Cruising Adventure is a 45-year Vancouver tradition featuring engaging presentations of exciting world travels, independent adventure and a good dose of practical advice about sailing offshore. It is presented by the Vancouver Chapter of the Bluewater Cruising Association (BCA), a not-for-profit organization.
