On July 2, applications for the 2027 Van Isle 360 International Yacht Race opened. Within 10 days eight submissions were already under consideration—now, 13 boats are already listed as applicants. Race dates are Friday, June 4 through Saturday, June 19. The 2027 race, named the Black Wolf Edition, under new owners Chris and Christa Maier, is a Category 2 race that will be scored under ORC. Divisions will be determined by ratings; entry rating for monohulls is ORC APH 615 and faster. Multihulls with PHRF 135 and faster are welcome to apply and will be considered if a division can be formed.
This 580-mile race has nine legs to nine harbours and is supported by the communities it visits, without whom the race wouldn’t be possible. Ports of call are the same as the 2025 Van Isle 360. In 2025 there were 44 boats registered in the race and organizers are hoping for a similar turnout this year.
The Van Isle 360 is an extreme race and a rugged challenge, with intense tidal currents and the the chance to face the open Pacific Ocean. To find out more go to vanisle360.com.
